Police continue to investigate Fingal home invasion

Launceston CIB continues to investigate a robbery that occurred at Talbot Street, Fingal, at 12.10am on Monday 26 March.

Three female offenders, wearing dark coverings over their faces, forced entry to those premises and assaulted and threatened the 76 year old male occupant, demanding money from him.

The offenders struck him multiple times to the head and body with a wooden object, attempted to tie him up, threatened to shoot him and demanded money from him. The victim was able to fight back and the offenders then fled the premises.

The victim remains at the St Marys Hospital in a satisfactory condition with several teeth broken, a significant laceration to his head, and bruising to his body. He is expected to be released in the next few days.

Acting Det. Insp John Parker of Launceston CIB said that police are interested in speaking to anyone who knows the identity of the three women involved.
