Police investigate armed robbery at Charleville

Police are investigating the armed robbery of a business in Charleville last night, Tuesday August 23.

Just before 10pm a male entered the Wills Street service station and produced a bladed weapon, threatening the male attendant before making demands for money and cigarettes.

The employee, who was not physically injured, complied.

The male smashed the register with the weapon and left on foot via King Street with a sum of money and cigarettes.

He is described as Aboriginal, around 170cm tall with a solid build. He was wearing dark coloured long pants with a dark hoodie, baseball cap and black and white coloured shoes. He was carrying a blue backpack and wore blue gloves.

Investigators are appealing for anyone with information to come forward, and are asking businesses and motorists in the vicinity to provide relevant CCTV or dashcam footage. Anonymous reports can be made.
