Mackay detectives investigating the armed robbery of a Marian service station in the early hours of Sunday morning have released CCTV they believe could assist with their inquiries.
Initial investigations indicate around 5.20am a stolen white Volkswagon Amarok bearing New South Wales registration CVZ12H pulled up in the driveway of the Anzac Avenue service station.
One person remained in the vehicle while two people entered the store and approached a 37-year-old man demanding money.
The 37-year-old refused and picked up a metal stool.
The two people ran out of the store fleeing in the Volkswagon.
The 37-year-old was not physically injured.
A short time later, police responded to a break and enter in Mount Pleasant.
Preliminary investigations indicate around 5.40am two people entered a convenience store on Grandview Drive by smashing the glass front door.
Whilst inside the shop, the pair damaged and stole property.
The Volkswagon was located at 7am today on Hume Street, West Mackay in a burnt-out condition.
Mackay detectives are appealing to anyone who witnessed the incidents, recognises the vehicle pictured, or may have dashcam footage that captures it in the area at the time to contact police.
