Detectives from Moorabool Crime Investigation Unit are investigating a series of grass fires which occurred in Bacchus Marsh and surrounds on Saturday afternoon.
Emergency services responded to a grass fire near the intersection of Glenmore Road and Bacchus Marsh-Balliang Road, Glenmore about 3.50pm.
The fire burnt approximately 10 acres of farmland before it was contained. It is being treated as suspicious.
At about 4.45pm emergency services were alerted to a small grass fire on Woolpack Road, Bacchus Marsh.
The fire was quickly extinguished and is also being treated as suspicious.
Emergency services were then notified of fires along Parwan-Exford Road, Parwan about 4.50pm.
Again the fires were quickly brought under control and are being treated as suspicious.
Investigators are keen to speak to anyone in the area who may have witnessed any of the fires, or persons or vehicles in the vicinity of the fires about the times they began.
