Police are investigating the circumstances surrounding an attempted armed robbery and stabbing in Carrum Downs on Friday.
Emergency services were called to Balmain Drive, Carrum Downs, about 2pm on Friday 21 June.
It’s understood a taxi collected a male passenger from Greens Road, South Dandenong about 1.40pm.
Upon arriving at a residential address on Balmain Drive the male passenger presented a knife and demanded cash from the taxi driver.
A short scuffle ensued and the driver sustained a number of stab wounds to the arm.
The 38-year-old Eumemmerring man was transported to hospital in a stable condition.
He has since been released from hospital.
Detectives from Frankston Embona have released images of a man they wish to speak to in relation to the incident.
The offender is perceived to be Caucasian, a slim build in his early 20s.
He was wearing a grey hooded jumper and was unshaven.
He was last seen running towards Shearwater Drive shortly after the incident.
