Major Collision Investigation Unit detectives are investigating the circumstances surrounding a fatal collision in Sunshine West early this morning.
It is believed a white Audi sedan was travelling north along Links Road when it collided with a gold Honda sedan travelling east on Glengala Road just before 1am.
Both vehicles then crashed into two parked cars on Links Road.
Sadly, the driver, of the Honda a 69-year-old Sunshine West man and sole occupant, died at the scene.
Police have been told a number of occupants were inside the Audi at the time of the collision and they were seen running from the scene.
One of the occupants, a 22-year-old Wyndham woman is currently assisting police with their enquiries.
Investigators are keen to speak to any witnesses or anyone with dash cam footage.
