Homicide Squad detectives are investigating the circumstances surrounding the death of a woman in Footscray last night.
Police were called to a property on Cowper Street for a welfare check on the occupant just after 8pm.
A woman, who is yet to be formally identified, was located deceased at the scene.
Detectives are making enquiries to determine the circumstances surrounding the incident and investigations remain ongoing.
