Northern Territory Police are investigating an incident in which an 18-year-old woman was seriously assaulted in Tennant Creek at the weekend.
Around 10:25pm on Saturday police responded to a report of a disturbance at an address on Wolseley Street, where they located a woman unconscious and suffering serious injuries.
The woman was transported to the local hospital and later medivaced to the Alice Springs Hospital where she remains in a serious but stable condition.
Detectives from the Tennant Creek Investigation Unit are investigating the incident.
A 26-year-old man is currently assisting police with their inquiries.
