Sex Assault Squad detectives are seeking information regarding an incident this morning, Friday 24 May 2019, in which an 18-year-old woman was sexually assaulted in the Leederville/Wembley area.
Just before 1:30am this morning the victim became separated from a friend in the vicinity of Leederville Parade and Loftus Street, in Leederville, and despite efforts to find her she could not be located.
About 4:30am the victim attended a service station at the intersection of Harborne Street and Cambridge Street, in Wembley, where she contacted family. The victim has since disclosed she had been sexually assaulted whilst she was walking, prior to attending the service station.
At this time the exact time and location of the incident is being established.
The suspect is described as being fair skinned, 35 to 40 years old, tall, and of skinny build. He was wearing a jumper or long sleeved shirt and dark long pants.
It is believed the woman screamed at the offender during the assault.
Detectives would like to hear from anyone who saw a woman walking alone, or a man acting suspiciously, between the two locations above, or anyone in that area who heard a woman scream between 1:30am and 4:30am this morning.
Anyone who has information that could assist with this investigation is asked to call Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000 or report the information online at www.crimestopperswa.com.au.
