Wyndham Crime Investigation Unit detectives are appealing for information following an aggravated home invasion in Tarneit this morning.
Police have been told that three masked men brandishing machetes broke into the Baden Powell Drive home about 4.15am on 1 June.
The trio confronted a 22-year-old man inside before assaulting him, causing a laceration to his leg and hand.
Also home at the time was a 62-year-old man, a 17-year-old male teen and an 11-year-old boy.
All four occupants fled the scene and called emergency services.
The 22-year-old man was transported to hospital in a non-life threatening condition.
Nothing was stolen during the incident and no arrests have been made.
