Police are investigating the circumstances of a crash in Launceston this morning where a pedestrian sustained serious injuries.
Around 10.10am emergency services responded to reports of a male pedestrian struck by a truck near the intersection of Paterson and St John Streets.
The pedestrian was transported by Ambulance to the Launceston General Hospital with serious injuries.
A police investigation is being conducted to determine the cause of the crash.
Multiple police units attended the scene, including Forensic Services and Crash Investigators who deployed a drone.
The driver of the truck was not physically injured. They remained at the scene and are assisting police with the investigation.
Traffic diversions were in place for some time this morning and police thank the public for their patience while the scene was examined.
