Police have responded to a truck crash on the Western Ring Road at the Melrose off ramp on Friday, 15 July.
Emergency services were called to reports a truck had crashed into safety barrier and rolled onto its side and into an embankment about 2am.
Rescue crews were required to safety extricate the driver, a 41-year-old Mernda man, who was taken to hospital for observation.
Firefighters are working to clean up a significant amount of chemicals that were spilled in the crash.
The exact circumstances surrounding the incident are yet to be determined and investigations remain ongoing.
