Police investigating wounding at Caloundra

A 12-year-old girl has been charged following an alleged wounding incident in Caloundra today, October 3.

At approximately 10am, emergency services responded to reports of a disturbance at an educational facility on Bower Street.

A 12-year-old boy sustained a non-life-threatening cut to his abdomen and was transported to Sunshine Coast University Hospital for treatment.

It will be alleged two other students were threatened, but not physically injured.

A fourth student, a 12-year-old girl, was taken into custody.

It will be alleged she was located by police with a knife and had caused damage to a wall.

She has been charged with one count each of wounding, going armed so as to cause fear, possession of a knife in a public place, two counts of common assault and three counts of wilful damage.

She was denied police bail and is expected to appear at Maroochydore Children’s Court tomorrow, October 4.
