Police are appealing for witnesses after a 16-year-old boy sustained a stab wound in Nambour last night.
Preliminary information suggests the local boy was walking through a park on Matthew Street when he became involved in a physical altercation with another male around 6.40pm.
The boy sustained a stab wound to his back during the scuffle and it is believed the male person then fled the scene in a white car.
Police located the injured boy on Howard Street a short time later. He was transported to Nambour Hospital with a non-life-threatening injury.
Police are asking anyone who may have witnessed the incident or been in the vicinity of the park between 6.40 and 7pm to come forward.
