An investigation is underway after fire destroyed a home in the state’s north west today.
About 4.20am (Friday 8 April 2022), officers attached to Oxley Police District were conducting routine patrols when they found a home well alight on Matheson Street, West Tamworth.
Fire and Rescue NSW arrived a short time later and extinguished the blaze; however, the house was destroyed.
No one was home at the time, and no injuries have been reported.
Police established a crime scene and have commenced an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the fire.
