Melton Crime Investigation Unit detectives have charged a woman following a pursuit in Diggers Rest yesterday.
It is alleged the woman was driving a white Camry travelling along Plumpton Road when she was involved in an altercation with the driver of a Volkswagen Golf, about 2.25pm.
The male passenger of the Camry allegedly threatened the Volkswagen driver with a firearm before they fled towards Taylors Road.
Officers quickly responded to the incident and initiated a pursuit.
Officers successfully deployed stop sticks and the driver lost control, narrowly missing another vehicle, and hitting a tree on the other side of the road.
The impact forced the car to roll several times, ejecting the male passenger from the vehicle.
The 35-year-old Taylors Lakes male passenger remains in hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
The 32-year-old St Albans driver has been charged with more than 20 charges including dangerous driving causing serious injury, reckless conduct endangering life, unlicensed driving, and various drug offences.
She has been remanded to appear before the Melbourne Magistrates’ Court this evening.
