Northern Territory Police have charged a man and woman in relation to an unlawful entry in Darwin city overnight.
At around 10:30pm, the pair, both aged 28, allegedly unlawfully entered a unit complex on Finniss Street and stole a number of items from the car park. They then allegedly unlawfully entered a unit and stole a quantity of alcohol and small items before being confronted by the unit’s occupant.
The occupant pursued the pair outside the unit and restrained the female. The male offender then allegedly assaulted a witness that had contacted police, before assaulting the occupant.
Police arrested the female offender at the scene and arrested the male offender a short distance away.
Strike Force Trident have charged the female with:
- Aggravated unlawful entry
- Aggravated robbery
She was remanded to appear in Darwin Local Court on 28 March.
The male was charged with:
- Aggravated unlawful entry
- Aggravated robbery
- Aggravated assault
- Engage in conduct that contravenes a domestic violence order
He was remanded to appear in Darwin Local Court on 28 March.
Detective Acting Superintendent Mark Bland Said, “General Duties, Dog Operations and Strike Force Trident all attended this incident and apprehended these offenders quickly.
“Both will now face court for their actions.”
