Mandurah Detectives have charged four people in relation to an evade police incident that occurred in Bertram today, 14 December 2022.
About 9am, police sighted a stolen silver Kia Carnival travelling north on the Kwinana Freeway.
Officers activated emergency lights and sirens and attempted to stop the vehicle; however, it will be alleged the male driver failed to stop and continued to travel at speed.
Police Air Wing monitored the vehicle and assisted officers on the ground before the vehicle was abandoned on Sulphur Road in Bertram.
The driver and passengers fled on foot into bushland and were subsequently located by police.
Detectives have charge four juveniles with the following offences:
A 16-year-old Leederville male has been charged with:
- 1 x Possess a Prohibited Drug (Cannabis)
- 1 x Reckless Driving to Escape Pursuit by Police
- 1 x Driver of a Vehicle Failed to Comply with a Direction to Stop (Circumstances of Aggravation)
- 1 x Driver Fail to Stop – Property Damage
- 1 x No Auhority to Drive (Never Held)
- 1 x Steal Motor Vehicle
Due to appear in the Perth Children’s Court on 15 December 2022.
An 18-year-old Midland male has been charged with:
- 1 x Steal Motor Vehicle
Due to appear in the Rockingham Magistrates Court on 23 December 2022.
A 17-year-old Ballajura female has been charged with:
- 1 x Steal Motor Vehicle
- 1 x Breach of Protective Bail Conditions
Due to appear in the Perth Children’s Court 15 December 2022.
A 13-year-old Maddington female has been charged with:
- 1 x Steal Motor Vehicle
Due to appear in the Perth Children’s Court 15 December 2022.
