Northern Territory Police have charged a man with domestic and sexual violence offences in Alice Springs earlier this week.
On the morning of Monday 7 November, an 18-year-old man allegedly repeatedly assaulted his 18-year-old female partner at an Alice Springs Town Camp.
He has allegedly armed himself with a blunt weapon, continuing to assault the victim before allegedly sexually assaulting her.
The victim was conveyed to Alice Springs Hospital suffering from a number of lacerations and bruises.
Police arrested the 18-year-old man that night, where he has since been charged by detectives from the Alice Springs CIB with:
• 2 x Aggravated assault
• 2 x Breach domestic violence order
• 1 x Sexual intercourse without consent
• 1 x Recklessly endanger serious harm
• 1 x Breach bail
He was remanded to appear in Alice Springs Local Court on 22 December 2022.
Detective Sergeant David Munro said “This was a repeated, cowardly attack on a vulnerable victim.
“Investigations are ongoing as the victim recovers in hospital.
