Northern Territory Police have charged two men in relation to drug offences around the Territory.
Drug and Organised Crime Section detectives executed a search warrant on a residence in Rosebery on Tuesday, where they found a number of items indicative of drug supply.
A 28-year-old man was arrested and has been charged with:
- 3 x Supply schedule 2 dangerous drug – commercial
- Attempt to pervert the course of justice
- Supply schedule 1 dangerous drug – less than commercial
- Possess schedule 1 dangerous drug – less than trafficable
- Receive property – commission of offence
- Possess cannabis
- Possess ammunition without a licence
- Unlawfully possess property
He was remanded to appear before Darwin Local Court on 2 February 2022.
A simultaneous search warrant was executed on a residence in Herbert where detectives located further items indicative of drug supply and quantity of ammunition.
A 25-year-old man was arrested and has been charged with:
- Supply schedule 1 dangerous drug – commercial quantity
- Possess schedule 1 dangerous drug – commercial quantity
- Possess thing to administer
- Possess ammunition without a licence
- Unauthorised possession of schedule 8 substance
He was remanded to appear before Darwin Local Court 29 December 2022.
Detective Senior Sergeant Wayne Newell said, “These arrests have been the result of extensive work by the Drug and Organised Section and have resulted in upwards of 100kg of illicit substances removed from our community.
“Our members work tirelessly to protect the Northern Territory”.
