Melton Crime Investigation Unit detectives have charged a number of people following two stabbings which occurred in Melton West and Melton South on Sunday, 4 September.
Emergency services were called to the intersection of Coburns Road and Barries Road in Melton West around 8.30pm where a 15-year-old boy was located with a stab wound to his stomach.
Emergency services also responded to an incident at the intersection of Station Road and Brooklyn Road in Melton South around 8.30pm where another 15-year-old boy and a 17-year-old boy were found with stab wounds to their stomachs.
Detectives have since interviewed and charged a number of people including:
• Three 15-year-old boys from Melton South who have been charged with affray and bailed to appear at a Children’s Court at a later date.
• A 15-year-old boy from Brookfield who was charged with affray and bailed to appear at a Children’s Court at a later date.
• A 16-year-old boy from Melton who was charged with affray, assault with a weapon and possess controlled weapon and bailed to appear at a Children’s Court at a later date.
• A 15-year-old boy from Melton South who was charged with intentionally cause serious injury, assault with a weapon and other charges. He was bailed to appear at a Children’s Court at a later date.
• A 24-year-old Melton South man who was charged with intentionally cause serious injury, assault with a weapon and other charges. He has been remanded in to custody and will appear at a Magistrate’s Court at a later date.
