Northern Territory Police have arrested a male and female in relation to an unlawful entry in Nightcliff yesterday.
At 6pm, police received reports that a residence on Banksia Street was unlawfully entered and a number of small items stolen, including credit cards.
Police attended a short time later with the victim receiving a notification that their credit card was currently being used at a nearby service station.
General duties members attended the service station and were able to identify the offenders through CCTV.
Later that night, members attended a residence in Parap, where they arrested the pair.
A 15-year-old male was charged with:
- Serious breach of bail
- Going armed in public
- Unlawful Entry
- Stealing
He was remanded to appear in court today.
A 20-year-old female was charged with:
- Unlawful entry
- Stealing
- Obtain benefit by a deception
She was bailed to appear in Darwin Local Court on 18 November 2022.
Detective Senior Sergeant Mark Bland said, “General duties members worked quickly to identify the offenders, allowing for a fast arrest.
“NT Police would remind residents to stop, look and lock when it comes to property offences. Always ensure your property and vehicles are locked when not in use, and the keys kept out of sight at all times.”
