Maryborough detectives are seeking witnesses following an alleged murder in Urangan yesterday, Monday April 4.
Police were called to reports of a collapsed person at a Victory East Road address at approximately 8am.
Officers searched the area and located the body of a 62-year-old Urangan man inside an industrial business complex.
The man was located with head injuries.
A crime scene was declared, and Operation Uniform Jaw established as investigations commenced.
A 57-year-old Urangan man was located at the scene and taken into custody.
He has been charged with one count of murder and is expected to appear at the Hervey Bay Magistrates Court today, April 5.
Police are appealing for witnesses that may have sighted a white 2020 Toyota Landcruiser Prado (pictured) between the hours of 6am and 8am yesterday, travelling from the Hervey Bay industrial area near the Airport, down Booral Road onto Elizabeth Street towards Esplanade at Urangan.
Police have information this vehicle stopped near the Hervey Bay Botanic Gardens.
Anybody who sighted this vehicle or has dash cam footage that may assist police is urged to contact Crime Stoppers.
