A 32-year-old-male has been arrested following an alleged assault in Coconut Grove last night.
Police received reports at around 11:00pm of a disturbance between a male and female. Upon arrival a 28-year-old woman was found to have a large laceration to her leg.
It is alleged that the couple had been arguing when the situation escalated. The male had left the building and later returned with a tree saw and allegedly assaulted the woman before leaving the scene.
Members patrolled nearby units and located the male in a residential property. He was arrested and is currently assisting Police with their enquiries.
Detectives from the Domestic and Family Violence Section are continuing with the investigation.
