A 21-year-old man who was caught breaking into a property in Alice Springs at the weekend, has been arrested and charged.
Just after midnight on Saturday police responded to a report of unknown offenders breaking into a home on the Golf Course.
Offenders, who were observed loading items into a vehicle, fled the area prior to police arrival.
Police returned after receiving further reports of the offenders returning just after 1am.
Police Dog Freddy and his handler were first on scene and located one of the offenders attempting to flee via a window in possession of stolen property.
After a struggle with police, the offender was arrested and transported back to the Alice Springs Watch House where he was charged with;
• Possess Stolen Property
• Criminal Damage
• Unlawful entry
• Stealing
• Resist Police
Two co-offenders remain outstanding.
Police urge anyone with information relating to the unlawful entry of a home on The Fairway between the hours of midnight Saturday and 1am on Sunday, to contact them on 131 444 or report it anonymously via Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
