Northern Territory Police have arrested 4 youths after multiple vehicles were stolen and used in a ram raid in Darwin City overnight.
Around 1:30am, police received reports that a black MG3 and a white Kia Picanto were stolen from a location in Casuarina.
The vehicles were later used in a ram raid at a bottle shop on Mitchell Street, where extensive damage was caused to the business and alcohol was stolen.
Following this incident both vehicles attempted to ram police vehicles, however, no contact was made.
During a pursuit with Police the black MG3 was successfully tyre spiked near Leanyer and a then a second time near Jingili. Two male youths, aged 12 and 15, were arrested from the vehicle when it was abandoned in Millner.
The White Kia Picanto was later located outside a residence in Bellamack and 2 male youths, aged 13 and 16, were arrested at the scene.
The youths remain in custody and are expected to be charged later today.
Detective Acting Senior Sergeant Dale Motter-Barnard said “These arrests were the result of the collaborative efforts of Strike Force Trident, Dog Operations, general duties and CCTV operators.
“Investigations remain ongoing into the incident and we are calling for anyone who witnessed the incidents, or observed the vehicles, to make contact on 131 444. Please quote reference 23323125.
