Northern Territory Police have arrested 9 offenders in relation to multiple stolen vehicles across the Greater Darwin Region overnight.
At 2.00am, 3 stolen vehicles were observed travelling through the Marlow Lagoon, Coconut Grove and Greater Darwin areas.
Strike Force Trident and the Dog Operations Unit deployed to the areas after formulating plans to apprehend the vehicles and occupants.
An officer from the Dog Operations Unit, in an unmarked police vehicle, located one of the stolen motor vehicles, which mounted a median strip on the Stuart Highway, Coolalinga.
The officer pulled up behind the vehicle, the offending vehicle has reversed into the officer’s vehicle, causing damage to the front.
The officer has arrested 1 occupant before quickly arresting 2 more nearby without incident.
At 6:30am, Adelaide River Police located a second stolen motor vehicle and arrested 3 males, all aged 17.
The final stolen motor vehicle was located abandoned on Flightpath Road, Berrimah.
Strike Force Trident are continuing investigations with a further 3 offenders arrested a short time ago in Zuccoli following reports of suspicious behaviour in Virginia.

“Investigations remain ongoing and we are urging anyone with dash cam footage capturing erratic driving earlier this morning in Palmerston, Berrimah, Coconut Grove, Marlow’s Lagoon, Coolalinga and Adelaide River to make contact on 131 444. Please quote reference 10462654.
“These arrests have absolutely prevented a larger crime series from occurring and I commend all officers involved who deployed quickly, recovered 3 stolen vehicles and arrested 9 offenders, all without serious incident.
“NT Police is well aware the impact this senseless property offending has on the wider community and we will continue to disrupt it at every opportunity.”
