Northern Territory Police have arrested four youths in relation to a stolen vehicle in Woodroffe on Tuesday.
In the evening of 25 October, a gold Subaru Impreza was stolen from a residence on Astrolabe Court. The vehicle was used in unlawful entries at businesses on Pioneer Drive, Humpty Doo and Whitewood Road, Howard Springs.
A member of the public reported a sighting of the vehicle to police at 8:30am the next day in bushland near Wallaby Holtze Road at Yarrawonga.
Strike Force Trident, Dog Operations Unit and Palmerston general duties attended with four youths fleeing the vehicle. One youth quickly surrendered to attending police.
Patrol Dog Arnhem tracked one of the youths 2km through bushland before members arrested him without incident.
A search of the area, which was cordoned off by police, resulted in members arresting the final two youths a short time later.
The males, aged 16, 16, 16, and 17 will be dealt with under the provisions of the Youth Justice Act 2005 for their involvement in the unlawful use of a motor vehicle.
Investigations into the unlawful entries remain ongoing.
Detective Senior Sergeant Mark Bland said “These arrests were the result of an attentive member of the public quickly informing police of the vehicle’s location and our members working together to facilitate arrests.
“We are urging anyone who observed the vehicle Tuesday night to Wednesday morning, particularly if you have dash-cam footage, to make contact on 131 444. Please quote reference 10155262.”
