A police officer has been charged following an alleged assault while on duty.
In January 2024, officers attached to Professional Standards Command Complaint Investigations Unit commenced an investigation into alleged assault offences earlier this year.
Following inquiries, a 41-year-old man, sergeant attached to the North West Metropolitan Region, was issued a court attendance notice yesterday (Wednesday 7 August 2024) for one count of assault occasioning actual bodily harm.
He is due to face Downing Centre Local Court on Wednesday 18 September 2024.
The officer’s employment status is under review.
