A 50-year-old woman has died after she was struck by a truck while riding her bicycle through Bowen Hills this morning.
Just after 7.30am, the woman was riding along O’Connell Terrace when she came to stop between a truck and another vehicle at traffic lights at the intersection with Bowen Ridge Road.
The cyclist was hit by the truck as it moved forward after receiving a green light.
Paramedics treated the woman on scene, however she died a short time later. The 58-year-old male driver of the truck was not physically injured.
Officers from the Forensic Crash Unit are continuing investigations.
