An 82-year-oldAtherton man has died following a traffic crash in Atherton this morning, Monday March 28.
Preliminary investigations indicate around 9.45am the man was driving a2010 Holden Colorado utility in a north-easterly direction along Knowles Road, when a collision occurred at the intersection of Malanda Atherton Road, involving a 2003 Citroen 3 hatch, driven by a 74-year-old Malanda woman, who was travelling in a westerly direction.
The man suffered critical injuries and was transported to Atherton Hospital where he has since passed away.
The woman sustained serious injuries and is in a stable condition in Atherton Hospital. Forensic Crash Unit investigators are appealing for witnesses to the collision, especially those with dashcam footage to come forward.
