A motorcyclist has died following a crash with a vehicle at Kureelpa this morning, Thursday April 20.
Preliminary information indicates around 9am a black BMW K1300 motorbike was travelling east along Mapleton Road below the Dulong lookout when a collision occurred with a white 2016 Ford ranger utility travelling west.
The rider, a 70-year-old Sunshine Coast man was immediately assisted by the driver, however sustained critical injuries and died at the scene.
The driver of the vehicle, a 47-year-old Kureelpa man was not physically injured.
The Forensic Crash Unit is investigating the circumstances and anyone with relevant CCTV or dashcam footage is urged to contact police.
