Police are investigating a fatal traffic crash at Mirani, west of Mackay last night.
Preliminary investigations indicate, around 7.35pm a truck and car travelling west on Mackay Eungella Road collided and the car caught fire.
The three occupants escaped from in the car. A 12-year-old girl suffered critical injuries and was declared deceased at the scene. The female driver and nine-year-old boy were transported to Mackay Hospital with minor injuries.
The truck driver was not physically injured.
Forensic Crash Unit is investigating.
