A marine search for two men on a jetski was able to be called off after they luckily washed ashore at Port Kenny overnight.
The two men launched their jetski from Venus Bay about 4.30pm on Sunday 11 December.
The alarm was raised about 10pm last night by concerned family members after the two men, aged 76 and 58, hadn’t returned.
Police launched a search and rescue operation for the men and their vessel, mobilising SES, PolAir and an Australian Maritime Safety Authority (AMSA) Challenger Jet out of Melbourne.
About 3.45am this morning (Monday 12 December), the men and their jetski washed ashore at Port Kenny, south of the jetty.
Their jetski had broken down after experiencing mechanical issues and they were unable to swim to shore.
The older man was taken to the Streaky Bay Hospital as a precaution, but fortunately, neither man appears to have been seriously injured by their ordeal.
