Police are investigating following an assault and carjacking which occurred in Horsham on Friday.
It is understood the victim, a 32-year-old man, was driving with a male passenger in a red 2019 Nissan X-Trail registered 1OP 9GJ on Dimboola Road about 11.30pm.
Police have been told the passenger, who was armed with a knife, assaulted the victim who then jumped out of the car.
The offender then got into the driver’s seat and fled in the vehicle.
The victim sustained non-life threatening injuries and was transported to hospital for treatment.
The offender and the X-Trail remain outstanding.
