Police seek information: Armed robberiesin Brisbane

Police are appealing for witnesses and dashcam footage following three robberies which are believed to be linked in Brisbane’s south and west earlier this week.

Initial investigations indicate just before 9:30pm on January 13 (Thursday), three men, one armed with a knife, approached a woman walking to her car on Acacia Street at Heathwood.

The group threatened the woman before obtaining the vehicle’s keys and fled the scene in the car, a silver Ford Focus with registration plates 575RKA.

The second incident, occurring around 12am that same night, saw two armed men approach two women sitting inside a car on Ellington Street, Tarragindi, and demanded they get out of the vehicle.

During the confrontation, one of the men attempted to pull one of the women from the vehicle but was unsuccessful once nearby neighbours were notified.

The two men fled the scene towards Sexton Street in a car, believed to be the stolen silver Ford Focus.

The third incident, which occurred around 12:30am on Mt Cootha Road, Mt Cootha, saw a man and woman inside an SUV approached by five men, three of whom were armed with a hammer, knife and baseball bat.

The men demanded the victims get out of the vehicle before they proceeded to search the car.

As a result, the group took two mobile phones, a driver’s licence, a laptop and a bank card.

The group then left the scene in a grey Subaru sedan described as having a faulty headlight.

Detectives from the Acacia Ridge Criminal Investigation Branch are investigating.

The men involved in all three incidents have been described as having African appearances and wearing white/grey hoodies, masks and NIKE branded shoes.

Anyone who may have been travelling through any of the listed locations during the specified times and may have dashcam footage are encouraged to come forward.
