Police are appealing for information after a man was pulled unresponsive from the surf at Maroochydore this afternoon.
Around midday today, the man believed to be in his 30s was swimming at Maroochydore beach when he become unresponsive and was rescued.
Bystanders rendered first aid to the man before paramedics transported him to hospital where he remains in a critical condition.
Police do not believe there are any suspicious circumstances, however are appealing for anyone who has information about the man or witnessed the incident to come forward.
