Detectives are seeking information to identify a man driving a stolen white Mercedes C250 sedan that struck a police officer at Salisbury this morning.
The senior constable was performing static speed enforcement duties on Orange Grove Road and attempted to intercept a vehicle by entering the roadway on foot just before 6.30am.
The vehicle was then driven directly at the officer who was struck. The officer received non-life-threatening injuries and is currently being treated in hospital.
A white Mercedes C250 was reported stolen from Bardon last week and sighted at a fast-food restaurant at Salisbury just before the incident.
The stolen car was later located abandoned on Eaton Place at Wishart just before 7am.
Police are encouraging witnesses or those with footage of the white Mercedes, bearing Qld registration plates 132 ZCT, to come forward.
Additionally, anyone that can identify the driver and his passenger is also encouraged to speak with detectives.
