Northern Territory Police continue to investigate the circumstances surrounding a fatal crash that occurred on McMillans Road at Knuckey Lagoon on Tuesday this week.
A garbage truck travelling inbound collided into the rear of two Subaru Foresters before crossing into the oncoming outbound lane and crashing head-on with a white Suzuki Swift.
The crash claimed the life of a 51-year-old female from Herbert who was driving home from work at the time.
Major Crash detectives have spoken to numerous witnesses this week but are still yet to identify anyone who captured the crash, or the moments before or after, on dash camera footage.
Senior Sergeant Brendan Lindner said many vehicles are now fitted with dash cameras, either as standard equipment, or an aftermarket accessory.
“We’re appealing to anyone who travelled along McMillans Road in the vicinity of Crocodylus Park around 4.45pm on Tuesday 30 July to review their recorded dash camera footage to see if they captured the incident”
“Anyone who believes they may have captured the crash on dash camera is urged to contact police on 131444. Please quote reference number 9038564.”
