Police Seek Information On Property Offences In Darwin 16 August

Northern Territory Police are calling for information in relation to several incidents across Darwin overnight.

At 1.45am today, two youths attended a residence in Wulagi, where they attempted to unlawfully enter the premises.

Around 2am the same morning, police CCTV captured two youths armed with weapons at Hibiscus Shopping Centre, where they damaged a parked vehicle, and approached a member of the public with a machete in a threatening manner.

Around 2:45am, Police received reports that a Toyota Corolla was stolen from a residence in Leanyer. The stolen vehicle was later involved in a police pursuit in Palmerston; however, the pursuit was terminated for safety reasons.

The same stolen vehicle was allegedly involved in a burglary at a business in The Gardens a short time later.

Detectives from Strike Force Trident and Dog Operations were recalled to duty and began tracking the vehicle, which was located abandoned in Larrakeyah. Two males, aged 15 and 16, were arrested in the vicinity of the abandoned vehicle and are currently in custody.
