Northern Territory Police are calling for information in relation to a serious crash that occurred early this morning.
At about 4:30am, police received reports of a collision between a Toyota Corolla travelling southbound and a road train travelling northbound approximately 45kms north of Katherine and approximately 6km north of the Edith River Bridge.
A 29-year-old woman and a 24-year-old man travelling in the Corolla suffered injuries and have since been transported to Royal Darwin Hospital.
The driver of the road train was not injured and remained at the crash scene.
Major Crash Investigation Unit and Detectives from Crime Division are still on the scene to determine the circumstances of the crash. Traffic diversions are expected to be in place for the remainder of the day and motorists travelling through are likely to experience significant delays.
