Northern Territory police are calling for witnesses to an incident in Jingili yesterday afternoon in which two paramedics were assaulted.
About 4pm yesterday, St John Ambulance paramedics were flagged down to assist an injured person at the intersection of Rothdale Road and Sawyer Street.
While providing treatment, a female approached the paramedics and pulled off their personal protective equipment before punching and scratching them to the head and face.
The paramedics suffered scratches and bruises, with enquiries now underway to identify and locate the female.
Watch Commander Kaye Pemberton said assaulting emergency workers who are providing care and protection to the community is completely unacceptable.
“Police are asking any members of the public who may have witnessed the assault or have dash-cam footage of the incident to make contact on 131 444 and quote reference 9912374.”
