A 51-year-old Montumana man has been charged with trafficking after police seized 10 kilograms of cannabis during a targeted search yesterday.
Members of Western Drug and Firearm Unit, Taskforce Scelus, the Dog Handler unit and Burnie Uniform executed a search warrant at a private residence at Montumana on Wednesday morning.
Police located approximately 10 kilograms of dry cannabis bud, prepackaged for sale, along with cash believed to be the proceeds of crime.
A comprehensive cannabis hydroponic setup was also located at the property, with the value of the commercial equipment estimated to be about $50,000.
The 51-year-old man was arrested and later charged with trafficking, selling, and cultivating a controlled plant.
He was bailed to appear in the Burnie Magistrates Court in September.
