Melbourne Sexual Offences and Child Abuse Team detectives have interviewed a man following a reported sexual assault which occurred in Richmond last month.
Investigators have been told a 15-year-old boy was at a playground in a park on Highett Street when he was approached by an unknown male around 7.30pm on 27 March.
The man struck up a conversation with the boy and sexually assaulted him, then left the scene in an unknown direction.
A man has come forward and spoken with police today.
The investigation is ongoing.
