Police update 1: Shooting incident in Waterford, QLD

Police have charged three people with attempted murder following six weeks of intensive investigations into an alleged shooting in Waterford last month.

Around 2.20am, June 16, emergency services were called to Hein Road after reports a man had sustained a gunshot wound to the face and another man had been shot in the arm.

Subsequent investigations led detectives to allege the shooting occurred in the vicinity of Schneider Road in Waterford a short time before that.

A 24-year-old man, who was a passenger in the vehicle, allegedly sustained head injuries and was transported to hospital in a serious condition.

Police will further allege the 28-year-old male driver of the vehicle was shot in the arm and was also transported to hospital in a stable condition.

Investigations led police to execute a search warrant at a Waterford address on July 3 where they allegedly seized several firearms, ammunition, clothing and other items.

On Thursday, August 3, detectives arrested a 23-year-old Bayside woman and a 31-year-old Bayside man at a Waterford address.

Both have been charged with two counts each of attempted murder.

They are due to reappear at Beenleigh Magistrates Court on October 11.

On August 4, a 32-year-old Logan man was also charged with two counts of attempted murder in relation to this incident.

He is due to appear at Beenleigh Magistrates Court on August 23.

A 28-year-old Logan woman (already in custody on other matters) will also be charged with attempted murder in the near future.

Investigators have released vision in the hopes further witnesses will come forward.
