A man police were seeking after he failed to appear in court last month has been taken into custody in New South Wales.
John Amundsen, 53, failed to appear in court in relation to a stalking matter on Brisbane’s north side.
Mr Amundsen was taken into custody in Tweed Heads by members of the New South Wales Police Force last night.
Police will apply for his extradition to Queensland tomorrow.
Detective Superintendent Tony Fleming has thanked the community for their assistance.
“The public responded to our appeal and provided information to us through Crime Stoppers,” Detective Superintendent Fleming said.
“I want to thank all of those who took the time to contact police as this kind of community partnership is essential.
“We are grateful for the assistance and that people have the confidence to come forward.”
