Townsville Criminal Investigation Branch (CIB) and Homicide Investigation Unit detectives have released a video and photos of a vehicle believed to be linked to the death of a woman in Bluewater on Saturday and gun shots fired at a vehicle in Yarlboroo on Sunday.
Police are seeking dashcam vision of a red 1997 Toyota Corolla hatch with a red spoiler (pictured) that was in Bluewater on Saturday and travelling south of Proserpine on Sunday.
At 4.45pm on Saturday August 13, a woman was located deceased in bushland at Bluewater.
Police are appealing for anyone with dashcam who was on or in the vicinity of Bluewater Drive, Jaloonda Road including the Jaloonda Road boat ramp at Althaus Creek and the Bruce Highway between Bluewater and Deeragun between 10.30am and 11.30am on Saturday, August 13.
Investigators will also allege a man, in the same vehicle, was travelling south on the Bruce Highway near Yarlboroo around 11.30am on Sunday August 14 when he pointed a shotgun at a passing motorist, firing one shot into the side of the man’s vehicle.
Police are also appealing for anyone with dashcam who was in the vicinity of Midge Point Road, Bloomsbury and the Bruce Highway in the vicinity of Bloomsbury, Yalboroo, Calen and Mount Ossa (about 40kms south of Proserpine) between 11.30am and midday on Sunday August 14. The vehicle (pictured) may have been driving in an erratic manner.
Townsville Crime Services Inspector Jason Shepherd is urging anyone in or around those two locations with dashcam or CCTV to contact police.
“The community plays such an important role in providing information, dashcam or CCTV. We are urging anyone who may have been in Bluewater on Saturday or south of Proserpine on Sunday to please check their dashcam vision.
“The sudden death of the woman in Bluewater on Saturday is a tragedy. We are urging anyone with dashcam or information to contact police,” Insp Shepherd said.
