Police update 4: Operation Romeo Masking: Tallebudgera homicide investigation

Police have released further vision as part of their on-going investigation into the murders of 36-year-old Shane Ross and 47-year-old Cameron Martin.

Officers are appealing to anyone who may have seen a white BMW X5 SUV travelling between NSW and the Gold Coast on October 18, 2019 to contact them.

Dashcam footage provided by a member of the public shows a white BMW X5 parked on the side of Tallebudgera Creek Road near Martin Shiels Park at Tallebudgera at 8.45pm on Friday, October 18 last year. The vehicle of interest had cloned (fake) registration plates 498YRF attached to it.

The vehicle was observed driving northbound on the Pacific Highway, Chinderah NSW earlier at 8pm (Queensland time) with the same cloned plates recorded on the vehicle.

At 8.10pm, the vehicle is captured travelling northbound through the Tugun tunnel before taking the Tallebudgera exit.

The BMW was captured on local CCTV heading inbound to Burleigh before performing a U-turn on Tallebudgera Creek Road near Martin Shields Park at Tallebudgera around 8.20pm.

Police have worked extensively on this investigation since Cameron Martin was located deceased in his white 2015 Mercedes Benz C200 around 9.30pm on Friday, October 18. This vehicle had collided with a tree off Tallebudgera Creek Road.

Subsequent investigations indicate that Mr Martin sustained a puncture wound to his chest, shortly before the crash.

Around 1.30pm on Sunday October 21, 2019 36-year-old Shane Ross was located deceased in bushland on the corner of the Pacific Highway and Tallebudgera Creek Road.

Anyone with information relating to the vehicle shown in the vision is urged to contact police.
