Two people have been charged after allegedly stealing a car in Pialba and driving it to the Sunshine Coast yesterday, November 15.
At 10am a woman was by her car on Charlton Esplanade, when she was approached by a man and a woman who threatened her with a firearm demanding her car.
They then drove away in the woman’s white Toyota Corolla.
The man drove the car from Hervey Bay to Maryborough and onto the Maryborough-Cooloola Road and Tin Can Bay Road to Gympie. The driver continued to travel south on the Bruce Highway.
At 12.08pm, Police began following the vehicle at Forest Glen along the Bruce Highway just after Maroochydore Road.
The vehicle was seen to be swerving in and out of traffic and has side swiped another car before rolling south of Roys Road, Beerwah at 12.17pm.
The driver of the side swiped car was taken to the Sunshine Coast University Hospital as a precaution.
A 27-year-old Seaforth man has been charged with, two counts each of unlawful use of a motor vehicle, receiving tainted property, evade police. He has further been charged with one count of robbery whilst armed and in company, common assault, dangerous operation of a motor vehicle, possession shortened firearm, possession of explosives (ammunition) and stealing.
A 24-year-old Mackay woman has been charged with two counts of unlawful use of a motor vehicle, one count of robbery whilst armed and in company and common assault.
Both will appear in the Maroochydore Magistrates Court today, November 16.
