Northern Territory Police have arrested multiple offenders in relation to a of a camping store in Alice Springs last week.
Around 5am on Friday 29 March 2024, up to 8 offenders unlawfully entered a camping store on Wilkinson Street, Ciccone, stealing a large quantity of hunting equipment and cash.
The items stolen include two compound bows, multiple bolts and knives.
Detectives from Strike Force Viper began investigating immediately and a 21-year-old man was arrested the next day in relation to the offending. He has since been charged with traffic offences and possessing stolen property.
Detectives conducted separate search warrants on residences in Alice Springs where both stolen crossbows and a quantity of knives and bolts were seized.
Two males, aged 14 and 18, were subsequently arrested and are also expected to be charged in relation to the offending.
Detective Senior Sergeant Michael Budge Said “Thankfully our members have managed to safely locate and remove the compound bows from the community, along with most of the stolen knives.
“The theft of these weapons is taken incredibly seriously by NT Police and the community can rest assured we won’t stop until every stolen item is located and everyone involved is held responsible.
